Voodoo Woman
SOLD

The painting - This is a stylistic portrait inspired by the mask maker. The Voodoo Woman contains all the powers of a voodoo queen and a redhead! Painted in acrylic on 18"x24" canvas.

The mask - This “Marie LeVeau” mask was created for personal costume use, and therefore is Devin’s keepsake. It is crafted of textured paper mache over a plastic base with hand sculpted features. It has unique beads on its braided ribbons, raffia at the temples and a stone fetish offset with pheasant feathers. Beware her evil eye!

The frame - This frame features a coved surface to complement the curve of the flame in the painting. The inner sight edge has been carved with a small flame pattern and rubbed with a golden glaze. The coved surface is a glossy jet-black with a gilded outter bead. The frame is constructed of Poplar hardwood in order to strike a balance between weight and strength, and it is finished in durable shellac. There are magnets mounted two locations in the frame to support the mask hooks either in front of the face or below the frame.
